Chief Executive Officer of Gedeihen Recyclers :


Ugonna Nwekwuru is the Chief Executive Officer of Gedeihen Recyclers. He holds a BSc in Economics,He has obtained certification in Entrepreneurship and Business management with African Management Initiative Kenya. He has also obtained online course on Leadership and Entrepreneurship with Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI Network). He has Business skills competency with London School of Business & Finance. He operates a social change ventures program where over 1201 households has been registered to their services and has diverted over 100 tons of plastic waste in exchange for cash incentive in other to reduce the number of plastic waste that end up in streets and landfills which will be recycled into productive use, By so doing he is creating source of income to young people in his community who earns between $30 to $50 daily and reducing crime. His long time goals is to eradicate plastic waste in this community and Nigeria at large by converting them into productive use, creating awareness to encourage more social changers to join hands together to get rid of waste plastic in his community.

Chief Operating Officer of Gedeihen Recyclers :


Ogbonnia chimere Vincent is an engineer by profession and the Chief Operating Officer of Gedeihen Recyclers . He is an entrepreneur by vocation having had experience in customer service, teaching and marketing.He is passionate about improving environmental quality this informed his decision to go into recycling of PET plastics. He is a graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka. Currently, His passion is to help clean up our environment and reduce pollution to mitigate against the impact of climate change.

Gedeihen recyclers is a waste recycling and social benefit venture that operates an incentive-based scheme which collects recyclable materials from post consumers and in turn rewards.

Gedeihen recyclers are committed to transforming waste to value! With an increasing demand to rid our environment of non-biodegradable waste materials, we have made a commitment to making Lagos (and by extension South west Nigeria) safer and cleaner one-recyclable-at-a-time, as we primarily focus on Plastic (PET bottles, pure water sachet, nylon bags etc.) and other waste streams such as Aluminium cans, Paper (old newspapers, old textbooks, corrugated cardboard, carton etc.), Glass bottles and Tires.

We are passionate about providing high quality purified recycled products at very competitive prices to meet our customers’ needs and expectations, giving us that competitive edge in the market. We are strongly committed to demonstrating that recycling reduces hazards to nature and the environment, while lowering production costs and creating jobs at all levels.

OUR FOCUS:

We are not only passionate about transforming waste in our environment, but also transforming and empowering women and unemployed youths through our micro-entrepreneurship program and also conducting sensitization and awareness campaigns. We are proud pioneers in revolutionizing how we can make both our environment and communities safer and cleaner, while creating employment and empowerment. We are focused on collecting PET plastic waste, and other recyclables like aluminium cans, papers etc. which we will then utilize in providing high quality purified recycled flakes and baled recyclables at very competitive prices to meet our customer’s needs and expectations, giving us a competitive edge in the market.   • Improve the general living condition by reducing the quantity of waste lying around
  • By tapping into the under-utilized potential in women unemployed youth, this project provides them with financial independence, hence empowering them to contribute to family and economy.
  • Millions of dollars are lost in revenue through materials we consider as waste. Recycling realizes value from such waste and increases overall output for investors
  • The project will ultimately reduce import of virgin raw materials substantially by recycling the ones already in the system, thus keeping our financial resources within the country.
  • Up to 45 people will be directly employed in the first year while hundreds of independent micro entrepreneurs will be empowered
